With the new GST weighing on everyone's minds (and wallets), we're all looking for smarter ways to manage our budget. But slashing your spending does not have to mean slashing your style.
We want to share with you ever-stylish readers how to get the most value out of your accessories - by finding new ways to use them. Many accessories can turn into multipurpose pieces, so that buying one accessory is like getting two or three pieces for the price of one!
Take this simple and absolutely normal bracelet, for example...
...which you can grab for a steal at our online store for RM15.99. With a few tweaks, it can turn into a necklace, or even a headband.
Converting the bracelet into a necklace is as simple as attaching a coordinating ribbon to the bracelet. You can even re-use ribbons from gifts or paper bag handles. The best part is that the length of the necklace is completely customizable!
Begin by threading the ribbon through the loops at either end of the bracelet. After you've adjusted the ribbon to the length you need, pin the extender chain to the inside of the ribbon to keep it tucked away. And voila...you're done!
To turn the bracelet into a headband, a pair of hairclips will do the trick of securing the bracelet to your hair, or a pair of pins for securing it to your headscarf. You can then arrange your hair or scarf to cover the ends of the bracelet.
Simple, isn't it? With a little creativity, you'd be amazed just what your accessories can do. Necklaces can turn into bracelets, brooches into pendants, headbands into necklaces, and so much more. It all goes to show, you don't need to spend a million bucks to look like a million bucks.
